Tips on Hyperpigmentation

                         Reducing Hyperpigmentation

Having discoloration or areas on your face that are darker in color can cause chaos if you don’t know how to handle it or have tried EVERY product known to man and still can’t get a break. Hyperpigmentation is defined or referred to as the patches of skin that become more darker than surrounding areas of the skin. This happens due to the excess melanin that deposits in the skin and it’s the pigment that gives skin color. If you have given up all hope…there is a way! 🙌🏽 I have a few, quick tips below that I have tried on my melanated skin to reduce hyperpigmentation (but this is for all colors of skin):

Tip #1 Find skincare products that work with your skin:

Do you have any acne marks or discoloration on your skin?

·       When finding products for your skin determine what your skin needs; if you have oily skin, find products that have a drying agent to take away the oil and replenish natural moisture.

·       For normal/combo skin, find hydrating and drying combinations in the cleanser or moisturizer to get rid of the impurities and create balance in your skin.

·       There are various facial creams, cleansers, and moisturizers that will help aid any marks the blemishes leave behind or natural hyperpigmentation.

Tip #2 Be sure to use a separate skin discoloration product…

·       For melanated skin, we tend to have natural hyperpigmentation sometimes…using Ambi, Neutrogena, and other skin discoloration products can melt away those areas and even the skin tone.

·       For all skin types, you can use the above products to even your skin tone, fade away dark marks or areas, and protect the skin due to their natural SPF.

·       Try not to use bleaching products due to the chemicals in the product that can cause burns, irritation, etc.

      Tip #3 : Create a routine!!

·       In order to keep away acne and hyperpigmentation, you want to have a good foundation within and keep your skin clear.

·       Be sure to use your skin discoloration as directed to clear any marks or hyperpigmentation and maintain your clear, even-tone skin.

·       Always use organic, vegan friendly products!
